In February 2022, KimKim joined Tomorrow’s Air and became the first travel business to include a Tomorrow’s Air carbon removal payment with every booking as part of Kimkim’s Climate Initiative. In September 2023, KimKim became the first partner to support sustainable aviation fuel, too. When travelers book through KimKim an extra $20 per traveler is added to their booking for KimKim’s Specialist Climate Fund. 80% is divided across the Tomorrow’s Air portfolio of carbon dioxide removal and sustainable aviation fuel partners. 20% is used to fund local projects selected by KimKim.
Since 2022 KimKim funding has ordered the removal of 384t of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reduced emissions through sustainable aviation fuel in the amount of 70 tCO2e.
