As a girl in Alaska I took clean air and the possibility of exploration for granted. Now I understand that all I love - people, oceans, trees, plants, animals, rivers - cannot be taken for granted. They depend on whether Earth’s atmosphere can continue to protect us from the sun. By cleaning carbon dioxide from the atmosphere now I hope my son and the people of his and future generations will be able to explore and experience the world as I have.
